An Earthquake Hits Azerbaijan

On September 4, at 08:49 local time, (04:49 at Grinvich), the magnitude 5.3 earthquake was recorded by the RA MTAES Seismic Protection Survey Seismological Network, the epicenter of which was in Azerbaijan.

The geographical coordinates of the epicenter are north width 41.080 and east length 47.420. The hypocenter of the seismic activity was 30 kilometers beneath the surface. The tremor measured magnitude 7-8 points at the epicenter area.

The earthquake was also felt in a number of regions of Armenia: in Vanadzor (2-3), Stepanavan, Kapan (3), Ijevan, Noyemberyan (4), Choratan (3-4), Aygedzor (4-5) and in Yerevan (3-4).
