The Draft Law on Local Self-Government and Territorial Administration in the City of Yerevan was being discussed at the session of the RA National Assembly.

The deputies were interested in the main issue that is the provision stipulated by the Draft Law, according to which the Municipal Council would elect the mayor of Yerevan.

The Draft Law was presented by the Deputy Minister of the RA Ministry of Territorial Administration Vache Terteryan, he answered the questions of the deputies, as well as he clarified that this model is quite justified and widely spread in the European countries.

The discussion of the draft will be continued today.
